Instructions

Make 4 Petals:

  • R1: Start with a magic ring, work 5 sc in the round, don’t work ss. close the loop tightly

  • R4: turn, 2 ch, 4 dc, (2 dc in next st)*3 times, 3 dc.
  • R5: turn, 2 ch, 3 dc, work (2 dc in next st)*6 times, 4 dc, then work 3 ch, 2 dc, 2 hdc, 3 sc, 2 sc in next st, 3 sc, 2 hdc, and 2 dc.
  • R6: Work (4 dc in same st), 17 dc, then (4 dc in same st), and 1 ss. Then 3 ch, add wire, 2 dc, 2 hdc, 3 sc, 2 sc in next st, wire around the petal, 2 sc in next st, 3 sc, 2 hdc, and 2 dc.
  • R7: Work (2 dc in next st)*4 times, then work (3 dc in next st)*17 times, (2 dc in next st) *4 times, and 1 ss.

Stamens:

  • R1: Start with a magic ring, work 5 sc in the round. 1 ss, 1 ch.

Sepals:

Flower Bud:

Leaf:

  • R1: Start with the foundation chain: 21 ch.
  • R2: Add wire, then from 2nd st of the hook, work 2 sc, 3 hdc, 2 dc, 5 tr, 2 dc, 3 hdc, 2 sc, (1 sc, 1 ch, 1 sc), 2 sc, 3 hdc, 2 dc, 5 tr, 2 dc, 3 hdc, and 2 sc.

How to Assemble:

  • Step 1: Gather 2 crocheted corn poppy flower petals. Place them facing each other. Tie them tightly using the existing yarn.
  • Step 2: As you tie the first 2 petals, grab the other 2 crocheted flower petals. Position the additional petals underneath the tied ones. Keep weaving and tying to secure them together. Use hot melt adhesive to secure the yarn’s end.
