Step by step crochet chick patterns

Body of crochet chick

• (Use yellow plush yarn, 6.0mm hook)

Part 1: ( make 2 wings)

• Start with a magic ring.
• R1-R4: 4 sc in each round, cut and leave a tail.

Part 2: (main part of body)

• R1: start with 6 sc in magic ring. 1 ss, 1 ch [6]
• R2: （2 sc in next st)*6 times, 1 ss, 1 ch [12]
• R3: ( 1 sc, 2 sc in next st ) * 6 times, 1 ss, 1 ch [18]
• R4: ( 2 sc, 2 sc in next st ) * 6 times, 1 ss, 1 ch [24]
• R5-R8: 24 sc, 1 ss, 1 ch [24]
• R9: ( 2 sc, sc2tog, 2 sc ) * 4 times, 1 ss, 1 ch [20]
• R10: ( 1 sc, sc2tog, 1 sc ) * 5 times, 1 ss, 1 ch [15 ]
• R11: 15 sc , 1 ss, 1 ch [15]
• R12: (sc2tog) * 6 times, sc3tog [7]
• *Fill it with stuffing/fiberfill, weave the ends with a darning needle.

Make 2 feet of crochet chick

• ( use orange cotton yarn, 2.5mm hook)
• R1: start with 6 sc in magic ring. 1 ss. [6]
• R2: (in same st: 1 ch, 1 dc, 1 ch. 1 ss in next st ) * 3 times. 1 ss, 3 ch, from 2nd st of hook, 2 sc, 1 ss. cut and weave the ends.

Mouth of crochet chick

• ( use orange cotton yarn, 2.5mm hook)
• Step 1: 3 ch, from 2nd st of hook, 2 sc, 4 ch, from 2nd st of hook, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc. cut and weave the ends.

Comb of crochet chick

• ( use orange cotton yarn, 2.5mm hook)
• Big part: 6 ch, from 3rd st of hook, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc. cut yarn and leave a tail
• Small part: 4 ch, from 2nd st of hook, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 sc. cut yarn and leave a tail

Make 2 eyes of crochet chick

• ( white cotton yarn, 2.0mm hook)
• R1: start with 6 sc in magic ring. 1 ss, 1 ch [6]
• R2: (2 sc in next st) *6 times , 1 ss, 1 ch [12]
• R3-4: 12 sc in each round. cut and weave the ends [12]

Assemble crochet chick

• In order for you to assemble amigurumi chick plushie you must have these parts:
• Body
• 2 wings
• 2 Feet
• 2 Eyes
• Mouth
• Small and Big Cockscomb
• 2 safety eyes
• Hot Melt Glue

Putting it all together!

• Using your darning needle, sew the wings between R5 and R6 of the body. You can double secure it with hot melt glue.
• Attach the white eyes on the R5 and put it in the middle part. You can add small amount of fiberfill inside the eyes or scrap yarns to make it bulky.
• Follow it with putting the mouth below the eyes.
• Stitch the feet on between the R10 and R11 and with 3 stitch apart from each other.
• Attach the small cockscomb on the top of your work and follow it with big cockscomb
• Lastly, don’t forget to put the safety eyes. Use a plastic glue or hot melt adhesive if you don’t have one. Don’t put too much of it.
• This is optional but you can put some blush on the cheeks to look more adorable.
