Special Stitches

Sc2tog (single crochet 2 together): This stitch is used in Rounds 12 to 16 of the body and Round 2 of the tail. Sc2tog is a decrease stitch that combines two single crochet stitches into one, reducing the stitch count. To work sc2tog, insert the hook into the next stitch, yarn over, and pull through a loop, then insert the hook into the following stitch, yarn over, and pull through a loop. Finally, yarn over and pull through all three loops on the hook. Sc2tog creates a tapered effect, helping to shape the amigurumi and create curves and contours.

Assemble Crochet Bird

1. position wings on each side of the body. Use hot melt adhesive to ensure they are firmly attached to the body.

2. Begin by attaching the mouth to the front of the body. Align the starting chain of the mouth with the row where you want it positioned. Use a yarn needle, sew the edges of the mouth, and use a hot melt adhesive to attach it securely to the body.

3. Attach the eyes using hot melt adhesive.
