Stitches and Abbreviation

• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• hdc: half double crochet
• dc: double crochet
• tr: treble crochet
• ss: slip stitch
• sk: skip
• Sc2tog: single crochet 2 together (decrease)
• 3 sc in the same st/ 2 sc in each stitch: increase
• picot stitch
• R1, R2, R3, … : Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, etc

Special Stitches

• 2 sc in each st: This refers to an increase, meaning you’re making two single crochets in one stitch from the previous round.
• 3 sc in the same st: Work single crochet stitch inserting your hook in the stitch of the previous row under the top two loops. Work another single crochet stitch inserting your hook in the same stitch. Work the third single crochet stitch inserting your hook in the same stitch.
• tr (Treble or Triple Crochet): A taller basic stitch, taller than a double crochet.
• sc2tog: A single crochet decrease, meaning you’re combining two stitches from the previous round into one.
• 2 ch picot st: A decorative loop made by chaining a number of stitches (in this case, 2) and then slip stitching back into the first of those chains.

Step-by-Step Crochet Memorial Rose Patterns

 Make 4 small petals for crochet memorial rose:

• Start with a magic ring.
• R1: Make 3 ch, then work 8 dc in the round. 1 ss, 1 ch.
• R2: Work ( 2 sc in each st ), repeat 7 times and then 1 sc. 1 ss, 1 ch

• R1: Start with a magic ring. Make a 6 sc in the round. 1 ss, 1 ch

Memorial rose Flower bud:

• R1: Start with a magic ring. 5 sc in the magic ring. 1 ss, 1 ch.

• R3-R7: work 10 sc, 1 ss, 1 ch.
• Fold in half with an iron wire, tie a knot with yarn in the middle, and insert it into the middle of the flower bud.

• R1: Make 5 sc in the magic ring. 1 ss, 1 ch

• R5: Make { 7 ch, ( starting from the 2nd st of the hook; make 1 ss, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 tr), then sk 2 stitches, and secure with 1 ss }, repeat 4 times. 1 ch, cut and weave the ends

Make 5 Leaves for crochet memorial rose:

• Start with the foundation chain: 12 ch
• R1: Add wire, then from the 2nd st of the hook; make 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 4 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 3 sc in the same st, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 4 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc. 1 ss, 1 ch

How to Assemble Crochet Memorial Rose:

Step 1: Leaf Arrangement

• Gather all 5 crocheted memorial rose leaves.
• Attach the first 3 leaves together, aligning their bases.
• Securely wrap them together using green yarn.
• Position the two rose leaves side by side, forming a tilted arrangement.
• Use hot melt adhesive to secure the ends of the yarn and leaves in place.
• Set aside the assembled leaves.

Step 2: Sepal and Bud Setup

• Take the sepal of the flower bud, the crocheted bud, and the 2 remaining leaves.

• Apply hot melt adhesive to firmly secure the bud and sepal in place.

Step 4: Finalizing the Assembly

• While wrapping, attach the 2 remaining leaves to the preferred positions on the wire stem.
• Securely fix the leaves in place using hot melt adhesive.

• Secure the joint with hot melt adhesive for added stability.

Step 6: Attaching the Flower Sepal and Flower

• Attach the flower sepal to the flower using hot melt adhesive.
• Cover the stem with green yarn to enhance its appearance.
• Carefully attach the flower bud and the leaves assembled in Step 1 to the stem.
• Use hot melt adhesive to firmly secure the bud and leaves in place.
